Dear Healthcare Entrepreneur,
I understand your desire to create a relaxing and friendly environment in your medical or healthcare space that delights your patients, clients and staff, and keeps referral business flourishing. In fact, “relaxing” and “friendly” are the two most common words I hear from you when I ask the question, “How do you want your healthcare or wellness environment to feel?”
So how do you get to relaxing and friendly easily when there are a bazillion design and color choices out there, and without spending the thousands of dollars it can cost to hire a professional healthcare interior designer?
⇒ Design School for the Healthcare Entrepreneur ⇐
I created this school to teach you how to DIY (do-it-yourself) design your own medical or dental waiting room, treatment room, clinic or healing space, confidently and with ease. Through my courses you will receive adjunct support to my books and access to a private online community of kindred spirits (healthcare entrepreneurs just like you!) who will support and guide you (and you them!) along the way.
You don’t need any prior experience in design to enroll in the foundations course The Waiting Room Cure, 100-LEVEL, Module 1 (although I know there are many savvy DIY decorators out there and you may be one of them!)
I’ll be your teacher and your guide through all the courses, one lesson at a time. With your new patient-centered design eyes you’ll be able to implement the changes you desire to your own office or clinic, and within the budget that feels most comfortable to you.
Now let’s attend to the design of your healing space and get your business attracting your ideal patients, clients and staff, and building your referral network in ways you’ve only dreamed of.
♦ Each course consists of 3 modules.
♦ Each module contains 3 in-depth design lessons.
♦ We cover one lesson per class meeting.
♦ Class meets once every two weeks online via Zoom. That means each module lasts 6 weeks and an entire course lasts 4.5 months.
♦ There is a 2 week break in between each module.
♦ Buy each 3 month module individually (pay as you go) or buy all 3 modules (the entire course) for a 20% discount or a savings of US$300.
♦ Live online classes last approximately 60 minutes—15 minute lecture and 45 minutes Q&A and discussion.
♦ All classes are recorded, so if you can’t make it, don’t worry (!), you can always watch later at your convenience. You’ll get each lesson in your inbox after that month’s class meeting.
♦ Each module has a private Facebook group with access to Cheryl and your new friends (and healthcare entrepreneurs) for check-ins, discussion, and group support.
♦ Weekly homework to integrate the lessons learned in class.
♦ Weekly bonus videos with Cheryl to support, encourage and guide you.
♦ Packed with visual aides to help you learn easily and apply lessons to your own waiting room.
THE WAITING ROOM CURE, 100-LEVEL: Module 1
♦ Lesson 1 – KNOW WHO YOU SERVE
Before you can create a new design for your waiting room that transforms your business into a referral-generating badass, you need to be clear on who exactly you serve. Lesson 1 teaches you how to find out specifically who your current clientele is, what type of patient/client you want to attract to your business, and how to use that information to design a waiting room your patients want to return to over and over again.
♦ Lesson 2 – WHAT’S THE BEST WALL COLOR FOR MY WAITING ROOM?
Learn how color makes you (and your patients and clients) feel, what colors to avoid, and why an intelligent paint color is the foundation for a patient-centered waiting room everyone loves hanging out in. With over a bazillion color choices out there, it’s no wonder so many healthcare entrepreneurs get color wrong and lose thousands of dollars later in lost time, sleep and money fixing the problem.
♦ Lesson 3 – FIRST IMPRESSIONS, SIGNAGE AND SMELLS
What’s the first thing your patient or client sees, smells or hears when she steps into your waiting room? In lesson 3 we uncover the psychology of first impressions, how long it takes your patient to decide whether or not they like you (and your space), what the brain remembers and first steps to designing a positive first impression that turns into smart dollars and sense for your business.
THE WAITING ROOM CURE, 100-LEVEL, MODULE 1
CLASS BEGINS ON JANUARY 16, 2018!
Class starts just after the New Year! No prior design experience is required to sign up for Module 1. All big hearted healthcare entrepreneurs (regardless of your medical specialty) are welcome! Each lesson and module builds upon the previous one and moves you deeper into designing a waiting room that is unique to the needs and desires of your business.
There are two ways to pay. Pay as you go or buy the whole course at once and get a $300 discount and some awesome bonuses.
THE WAITING ROOM CURE, 100-LEVEL: Module 2
♦ Lesson 1 – THE LIVING ROOM DESIGN SECRET
Learn what current research reveals about what your patients and clients expect from your waiting room decor, and how to begin planning a space that considers every aspect of the experience. A professional living room design for your waiting room decreases the stress response in the brain and increases feelings of comfort and well-being. Lesson 1 gets right into how to begin how to achieve a home-like environment in your waiting room.
♦ Lesson 2 – HOW TO MAXIMIZE YOUR NATURAL LIGHT + WINDOW TREATMENTS
It’s easy to lose sight of the importance of natural lighting in your waiting room. If you’ve got it, flaunt it. Learn how to take advantage of the light coming through your existing windows, doors and/or skylights.
♦ Lesson 3 – THE HOSPITALITY TABLE
Savvy medical and healthcare businesses are now emulating the hospitality environment by offering next level service to their clientele with a hospitality table. Learn what this means for your waiting room, what to offer your patients and clients and how to tie this into your branding.
THE WAITING ROOM CURE, 100-LEVEL: Module 3
♦ Lesson 1 – THE WISDOM OF FLOORING
Do you love or hate your existing flooring? Learn how to work with your current flooring, carpet or rugs, and how to know when it’s time for a change. In lesson 1, you will learn how to decide which flooring is best for your healthcare space, how it makes your patients and clients feel, and how to avoid flooring that increases dizziness, nausea and other unfriendly sensations.
♦ Lesson 2 – HEALING ART AND INDOOR PLANTS
Learn how healing art plays a vital role in making your waiting room feel deeply nurturing and safe. What’s the difference between nature art and lifestyle photography and how do you know what’s best for your business? We’ll also look at using indoor plants in your waiting room.
♦ Lesson 3 – ARTIFICIAL LIGHTING
Learn the secrets to using artificial lighting in your waiting room to get that cozy vibe that keeps you, your patients, clients and team thinking, “It feels so good in here and I don’t know why!” In lesson 3, we uncover the truth about lighting, how to begin the process of choosing lighting you love and the best lighting options for your waiting room.
FAQ – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
⇒ Who is this course for?
Big hearted physicians, healthcare practitioners and wellness professionals who don’t have the time (or the budget) to hire a Healthcare Interior Designer to design their clinics, offices and wellness spaces.
⇒ I already have The Waiting Room Cure book. Why would I want to take this course?
The book is robust on its own, however, the course is adjunct support to the book and goes much deeper into the details and the customization of your own waiting room. You also have the added access to Cheryl and a private Facebook community of kindred spirits (healthcare entrepreneurs just like you!) who will support and guide you (and you them!) along the way.
⇒ What if I miss a class?
All lessons are recorded, so if you can’t make it, don’t worry (!), you can always watch later at your convenience. You’ll get each lesson in your inbox after that month’s class meeting.
⇒ What if I don’t use Facebook?
The private online Facebook group is an integral part of the course. You could conceivably just attend the classes but you would miss out on the group support, which is a core part of the course.
⇒ What are the weekly assignments like in between classes and do I have to turn them in to you?
The homework is easy and fun, and a great way to integrate the lessons learned in class. No, you will not be turning these into me, although I will be available to answer your questions and provide support (along with your new friends!) on the private Facebook group.
⇒ What if I don’t want to do the homework?
Then you don’t have to. You will get as much out of this course as you put into it. Your activity on the private Facebook group, doing the recommended reading, prep and homework, will serve you to be able to design your own badass waiting room. If you choose not to do the work, you will still get something out of the class, just not as much. You could just sit and listen and get value, but the more you put in, the more value you will get.
⇒ Are there any videos that come with the class?
Yes, I will be sending you weekly short videos, together with easy homework covering the current month’s design lesson.
⇒ Is The Waiting Room Cure book required reading for the course?
Yes. The lessons correspond with chapters in the book and then take you deeper into designing your own waiting room.
⇒ Does The Waiting Room Cure book come with the course?
No. You get a 30% discount off the price of the book.
⇒ What kind of computer and internet connection do I need to participate in the class?
Almost any computer made in the last 5 years should work fine. Apple, PC, and other kinds of computers are fine. If in doubt, download Zoom Client for Meetings from https://zoom.us/download and go to https://zoom.us/test to test it out. Almost any broadband internet connection should work (cable, DSL, or fiber). Additionally, you’ll want to be in a quiet spot and undistracted for our class meetings.
⇒ Why are your courses spread out over 4.5 months?
You have a healthcare business to run and I know how busy you are. Trust me, I’ve tried to make it go faster and it’s much better this way. Every lesson keeps building on the previous one. Understanding how to design your own patient-centered waiting room will stay with you throughout your life. You will be able to use these skills over and over again.
