“People who wade into discomfort and vulnerability and tell the truth about their stories are the real badasses.” –Brene Brown

Last week I had one of those delicious, heart melting phone conversations with my dear friend, where the two of us shared our latest daily struggles.

It was the kind of stuff that requires being vulnerable, having an open heart, no judgment, listening, and cultivating courage to trust in the Universe and love ourselves just as we are.

It’s not always easy right? There are those days you want to scream, “Why is it so hard right now?!!!” and then the train of poopie self-talk follows you around like toilet paper stuck on the bottom of your shoe.

Here’s the truth:

You are a BADASS.

When you get up in the morning and take care of yourself, your pets and your family, you’re a badass.

When you listen to your patients’ stories about their pain and suffering and respond with a desire to help, you’re a badass.

When you lend a compassionate ear to a staff member or colleague or a friend, you’re a badass.

When you take long baths and practice other acts of self-love, you are a badass.

When you give hugs, you are a super badass.

As best-selling author and storyteller Brene Brown shares in her new book, Rising Strong: “The truth is that falling hurts. The dare is to keep being brave and feel your way back up.”

You’re doing it. 🙂
