Imposter Syndrome defined by Google as:


“a collection of feelings of inadequacy that persist despite evident success.

‘Imposters’ suffer from chronic self-doubt and a sense of intellectual fraudulence that override any feelings of success or external proof of their competence.”

Sound familiar?

We all know what it’s like to have an off day, week or even a year where we continuously question our work, our value and we experience the monkey mind that often leaves us feeling like we truly aren’t good enough.

I recently read a decade’s old interview with Meryl Streep in O Magazine who shared that she has been known to quit a film project two weeks before it begins production because of feeling like she’s not good enough and someone has to talk her back into continuing with the project.

Of course Oprah was pretty shocked by this, (after all, we’re talking about Meryl Streep here) and asked her why she felt this way.

Meryl Streep’s answer: “Because I say to myself, “I don’t know how to act—and why does anybody want to look at me on-screen anymore?”

Imposter Syndrome? Uh huh.
