I adore my hair stylist.
Every four to five weeks I look forward to spending time in her salon where she begins my treatment by massaging a few drops of my favorite essential oil into my head.
She then proceeds to mix her unique alchemy of henna into my hair to cover my gray roots.
There is deep nurturing and grounding in our time together, especially in our conversations.
Recently, she handed me a couple of handouts with the philosopher Rudolph Steiner’s esoteric meaning of the days of the week.
Tuesday, for example, is associated with the latin word Marti or Mars.
And the influence of the red planet on us earthlings is strength, energy, building and assertiveness.
From Steiner’s teachings about the days of the week, Tuesday is the day of right action.
He advices us to move through our busy Tuesdays with special attention to acting in ways that bring NO harm to anyone or anything.
In other words, think about the consequences of your actions and the impact it has on the world around you… and then act accordingly.
My BIG message for you today is this:
It’s easy to get lost in the insanity of the world around you and feel powerless.
And then it’s even easier to slip into the cycle of worry, doubt and frustration that keeps you from living your dream and doing your work in the world.
Feel me dawg?
As my dear friend and plant herbalist extraordinaire Cyndi Hackett often reminds me, “Feel the fear and do it anyway.”
And act with compassion everyday, especially to yourself.
